Requirements

  • Expert Mazatrol and Mastercam programming skills
  • Minimum 3 years Mazak 5-Axis CNC programming experience
  • Minimum 3 years CNC machining experience , including multi-machine operation (Mazak lathes/mills or Star Swiss-style lathes)
  • Experience mentoring machinists and machining assistants
  • Ability to set up and run CNC machines independently
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming, CAD/CAM software, statistical methods, and machining mathematics
  • Mechanical aptitude specific to precision manufacturing
  • Deep knowledge of tolerances, fits, and precision metalwork
  • Commitment to detail and error-free performance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate Mazak 5-Axis CNC machines for high-precision medical parts.
  • Generate CNC programs using Mazatrol and Mastercam ; macro programming as required.
  • Complete first article inspections and maintain production goals.
  • Monitor machining process for tolerances, surface finishes, and defects.
  • Inspect parts accurately to blueprint specifications or proprietary software requirements.
  • Mentor and coach Class 1 machinists, providing guidance on setup and operation.
  • Interpret and work from detailed blueprints including geometric tolerances, dimensional tolerances, notes, revisions, and surface finish specifications.
  • Select and apply cutting tools, optimize tool paths, and troubleshoot machining issues.
  • Work with various materials: aluminum, copper alloys, stainless steel, titanium, and specialty plastics.
  • Maintain proficiency in measuring and inspection equipment for efficient quality control.
  • Coordinate multiple machines and ensure smooth workflow on the shop floor.
