The Mathematics Instructor position at Normandale Community College is a full-time, unclassified role focused on providing quality mathematics education to a diverse student body.   • Teach a broad spectrum of Mathematics courses in various formats including online, face-to-face, and hybrid.
  • Maintain a student-ready learning environment that meets the educational needs of a diverse student body.
  • Contribute to department, division, and college goals for program planning and evaluation.
  • Engage in scholarly activities consistent with the college's goals.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the success and retention of underrepresented students.
  • Participate in the development and improvement of curricula and courses.
  • Participate in faculty and department meetings and College-wide committees.
  • Master's degree with a major in mathematics or a Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits in mathematics.
  • Experience in course construction, teaching methods, and student outcomes assessment.
  • Three years of successful full-time teaching experience or equivalent prior to being hired.
  • Ph.D. degree in Mathematics
  • Experience serving diverse and underserved populations
  • Experience teaching in a community college setting
  • Experience teaching non-majors Statistics, College Algebra, Liberal Arts Math, Math for Elementary Education courses
  • Experience in online learning and web-based course management systems
  • Experience in innovative teaching and learning approaches
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
