About The Position

The University of Maine at Fort Kent is seeking highly qualified candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate mathematics. Instructional responsibilities include willingness and ability to teach developmental math courses, such as Finite Mathematics, Algebra and Pre-calculus through Calculus II, and Statistics I and II. Full-time faculty responsibilities include teaching four 3-credit courses per semester, curricula development, student advising, active involvement in divisional, faculty assembly and campus committees, governance and initiatives, university service and scholarship. Incorporation of experiential learning opportunities and identification and assessment of student learning outcomes in both traditional and distance education instruction essential. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching 12 credits per semester. Applicants are expected to develop curricula and courses, advise students, participate in division affairs, and engage in university service and scholarship. Applicants must possess the ability to deliver courses in a variety of mediums. Commitment to quality undergraduate teaching is required with experience in developing strong student learning, program outcomes and assessment highly desirable.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in mathematics or mathematics education by August 2029

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate in mathematics or mathematics education is preferred and required for tenure consideration
  • Experience teaching online courses, lower-level mathematics and mathematics education courses
  • Experience in developing strong student learning, program outcomes and assessment highly desirable.
