About The Position

The Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers who may be appointed to teach various courses. Course topics include, but are not limited to, upper division and graduate level algebra, analysis and geometry, as well as, lower division areas of algebra, trigonometry, precalculus, and calculus. Outstanding candidates with experience to teach courses in one or more of the above areas are encouraged to apply. The campus is especially interested in candidates who are committed to ensuring opportunity for students of all backgrounds and to fostering a community of inclusion and belonging through their teaching and other assigned duties. Appointments are temporary positions with end dates and generally made one quarter at a time, based on the changing curricular needs of the Department.

Requirements

  • Master's degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in mathematics or a closely related field.
  • Prior teaching experience at the collegiate or university level, as an instructor or teaching assistant.
