About The Position

Concorde Education is seeking an engaging, student-centered Math Tutor to provide targeted academic support for students in grades K–12 (grade band varies by assignment). This role focuses on strengthening foundational and grade-level math skills through structured, supportive tutoring sessions aligned to school goals and classroom expectations. Support may include intervention, skill reinforcement, homework assistance, and preparation for assessments, depending on student needs. Tutoring should be responsive and skills-based, emphasizing clear explanations, guided practice, and confidence-building routines. The tutor will provide support across a typical 10-week cycle, with pacing adapted to student needs and site logistics. Students will receive support in core mathematics skills appropriate to their grade level, which may include number sense and operations (elementary), fractions and ratios (upper elementary/middle), and algebraic reasoning, geometry, and data analysis (secondary). Tutors will help students understand concepts, practice problem-solving steps, and build accuracy and fluency through consistent routines.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 60 college credits (or Associate degree in progress/completed)
  • Strong competency in mathematics appropriate to the assigned grade band
  • Experience working with school-age students in structured settings (school, tutoring, after-school, camps, youth programs)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly, patiently, and in multiple ways
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional; able to follow school policies and program boundaries
  • Comfort supporting learners with varied skill levels, including students who need remediation or structured supports

Responsibilities

  • Provide small-group or 1:1 tutoring aligned to student needs and site expectations
  • Deliver structured sessions with clear skill objectives, modeling, guided practice, and independent practice
  • Diagnose misconceptions through student work and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Use developmentally appropriate strategies and materials to support diverse learners
  • Track progress informally through skill checks, student work, and observation to guide tutoring plans
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, supportive environment that builds student confidence and persistence
  • Communicate professionally with site staff and Concorde program contacts regarding attendance and session completion tracking
  • Adapt instruction based on student performance and teacher/site feedback while maintaining intended outcomes
