About The Position

Stetson School, an Affiliate of Seven Hills Foundation Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Annual Pay Scale - $59,980 to $75,730 (based on MA teacher license level) Sign on Bonus $10,000 for fully licensed applicants /$5,000 for applicants requiring a licensure waiver! Staff housing option available through February 30th, 2026! The Math Teacher provides instruction to elementary and middle school students in a structured special education environment. This role supports students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth through individualized instruction aligned with Massachusetts curriculum frameworks. The teacher collaborates with clinical, vocational, and support staff to create a safe, engaging, and skill-focused learning environment that prepares students for long-term success. The Math Teacher teaches secondary school math in a special education setting, helping students master subject content and develop the skills needed to become responsible, capable, and productive citizens. Prepares curriculum and lesson plans aligned with Massachusetts curriculum frameworks, individualizing instruction based on student needs. Develops Individual Education Programs (IEPs), monitors and documents student progress, and supports students with behavioral, emotional, or physical needs. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field such as psychology or human services required
  • Experience working with students within the assigned age range
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer-based systems including Microsoft Word, internet-based IEP platforms, lesson planning systems, and report writing tools
  • License required per DESE is Mathematic 9-12 Applicants not currently licensed must meet waiver eligibility, apply for licensure, and obtain licensure post hire in accordance with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
  • Valid driver’s license required

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction aligned with Massachusetts curriculum frameworks and individualized student needs
  • Design, adapt, and implement instructional materials and strategies appropriate to students’ academic, emotional, and developmental levels
  • Use differentiated instruction and a variety of instructional techniques, including hands on and skills-based learning approaches
  • Utilize appropriate assessment tools to monitor student progress and guide instruction
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Programs
  • Participate in and contribute to Individual Service Plan meetings for assigned students
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reporting using required electronic systems
  • Create a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes safety, respect, and student engagement
  • Collaborate with vocational, clinical, and behavioral staff to reinforce skill development and behavior plans
  • Supervise students throughout the school day to ensure safety and consistency
  • Implement behavior support plans in collaboration with ABC I and other team members
  • Teach socially appropriate behaviors using positive reinforcement and behavior modification techniques
  • Model professionalism and caregiver qualities that promote dignity, respect, and emotional regulation
  • Administer annual standardized assessments as required
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development
  • Perform physical activities including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or assisting students as needed
