About The Position
St. Stephen's Lutheran Academy is seeking a dedicated Math Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year, starting in early August 2024. This licensed private academic school caters to students in grades K through 12 who require specialized educational programs due to diverse challenges. Our innovative approach focuses on creating a therapeutic environment that emphasizes positive behavior interventions, allowing students to thrive academically and emotionally. The philosophy at St. Stephen's is that every interaction with a child is an opportunity to foster learning, growth, and healing. As a Math Teacher, you will be responsible for facilitating the math curriculum and serving as a resource for all staff members. You will participate in school meetings and create a learning environment that aligns with academic standards and IEP goals. Building strong relationships with students is crucial, as this will enable you to design instructional processes that cater to individual needs. You will implement assessments that are appropriate for each student and establish clear expectations and routines to maximize engagement and instruction. Additionally, you will model appropriate interactions and communication to manage student behavior effectively. Flexibility and responsiveness to the learning needs of students are essential qualities we encourage in our teachers. You will also be responsible for implementing student IEPs, documenting progress, communicating with parents, and attending meetings. Using both informal and formal assessments, you will monitor student learning and reflect on your teaching practices to enhance instruction. Participation in professional development is encouraged to continuously improve your teaching craft.
