About The Position

The Math Teacher position at Benilde-St. Margaret's School is designed to provide direction, leadership, and structure for the academic education of students. The teacher will support the mission and philosophy of the school and provide education to students in Middle School (6-8) or High School (9-12), with some positions potentially requiring teaching both age groups. The role emphasizes respect for the teachings of the Church, although being Catholic is not a prerequisite for all employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in a related field
• Minnesota teacher's license or ability to obtain a license under the direction of the principal

Responsibilities

• Teach classes as assigned by the principal (5 of 8 periods is considered a 100% load)
• Provide evidence of adequate preparation and have lesson plans available for substitutes
• Demonstrate knowledge of the subject matter
• Tailor pacing to meet student needs
• Employ a variety of techniques to motivate and meet different learning styles, including technology when appropriate
• Demonstrate control of classroom dynamics
• Exhibit professional conduct and dress appropriately
• Be punctual
• Enforce rules and expectations as outlined in the BSM student handbook
• Incorporate elements of the current strategic plan
• Maintain licensure and continue education in content and methods
• Attend required meetings and events
• Chaperone or supervise duties as assigned
• Keep accurate records and complete them in a timely manner
• Communicate respectfully and effectively with parents, teachers, staff, administration, visitors, and volunteers
• Support and facilitate the initiatives of the current BSM strategic plan
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal
