About The Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Middle School Mathematics Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mathematics and the ability to inspire young minds to engage with and excel in mathematical concepts.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field
Valid state teaching certification for middle school mathematics
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in middle school
Strong knowledge of mathematics concepts and teaching methodologies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in using technology to enhance instruction
Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners

Nice To Haves

Master's degree preferred
Current State of Connecticut Teaching Certificate #029 Preferred (or #229, #013)

Responsibilities

Develop and implement engaging mathematics curriculum for grade 6
Create lesson plans that align with state and national standards
Utilize various teaching methods to cater to different learning styles
Assess student performance and provide timely feedback
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Participate in faculty meetings and professional development opportunities
Collaborate with other teachers to integrate math across the curriculum
Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Familiarity with online learning platforms and educational software
Knowledge of current trends in mathematics education
Ability to lead extracurricular activities or math clubs as applicable
Perform all other duties that may be assigned by the Building Administrator(s) and Director of Operations, Curriculum & Instruction for General and Special Education
