About The Position

Dr. Kiran C. Patel High School is seeking a passionate, innovative, and dedicated Algebra 1 & Geometry Success Teacher to join our dynamic team for the 2026-2027 school year. We are a project-based learning school that fosters creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, providing students with opportunities to engage in hands-on, interdisciplinary learning experiences. As a teacher, you will guide students in developing their skills, connecting classroom learning to meaningful, real‑world applications, and pursuing projects that reflect their interests and strengths. You will collaborate with colleagues to create a learning environment that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and confident self‑expression. Position Overview Co-teaches daily in Algebra 1 and/or Geometry classrooms Delivers targeted small-group and in-class intervention while maintaining grade-level rigor Shares full responsibility for student growth and End-of-Course (EOC) assessment performance Uses real-time data to close learning gaps and accelerate achievement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or a related field
  • Valid State Teaching Certification in Mathematics 6-12.
  • Strong classroom management skills and proficiency with educational technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Project-Based Learning (PBL) or student-centered instruction is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Design: Develop and implement an engaging, project-based curriculum aligned with Florida state standards, with a strong focus on Algebra 1 and Geometry standards assessed on the End-of-Course (EOC) exams. Co-plan and co-teach within a collaborative classroom model to ensure students remain on grade level while closing identified skill gaps.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with faculty across different departments to integrate mathematics into broader, real-world academic projects, while working closely with the math team and administration to improve overall Algebra 1 and Geometry performance outcomes.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-expectations learning environment within a co-teaching model, maintaining shared responsibility for student engagement, accountability, and achievement.
  • Student Assessment: Utilize data-driven instruction to assess progress, provide constructive feedback, and close learning gaps. Regularly analyze NWEA MAP Growth data, FAST progress monitoring, and formative assessments to inform instructional decisions and accelerate student growth. Share responsibility for measurable student performance on Algebra 1 and Geometry EOC assessments.
  • Technology Integration: Effectively use Google for Education and 1:1 Chromebooks to enhance instruction, monitor student progress, and track growth data.
  • Mentorship: Promote leadership, personal responsibility, and academic growth among a diverse student body, helping students build mathematical confidence and ownership of their learning.
