About The Position

Moreland serves Preschool-8th grade students across three cities in Santa Clara County. Our teachers educate approximately 3,800 students in four elementary schools, two TK-8 schools and one middle school. Teachers are provided regular preparation time, collaboration time, and professional development. Students are offered a wide variety of programs to support their academic, social, and emotional growth. This position will be held at Moreland Middle School. Candidates who will have completed their credential by January 1, 2026, and have completed all required tests (e.g., RICA, CSETs, CBEST) are encouraged to apply.

  • A multiple subject is required.
  • Candidates currently under contract with another district will not be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide for adequate learning experiences within the framework of the prescribed curriculum.
  • Help each child in developing an understanding of himself leading to a positive self-concept and an awareness of the need for attitudes and actions which will result in good citizenship.
  • Provide planned learning experiences which will adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
  • Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an effective learning environment.
  • Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, prepare progress reports and communicate with parents as needed on the individual pupil's progress.
  • Identify pupil's needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping to solve pupils' health, attitude and learning problems.
  • Create with pupil; involvement in a functional and attractive environment for learning.
  • Select and requisition books, instructional aids, and instructional supplies, and maintain appropriate inventory records.
  • Supervise pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the working day.
  • Participate in curriculum improvement and other developmental programs within the school assignment and/or on a district level.
  • Share in the responsiblilities for school activities.
  • May plan and coordinate the work of student teachers and staff assistants.
  • Unless otherwise defined, are responsible to the school principal.
  • Follow district policies and regulations and the terms of the contract.
