About The Position

Support the mission and vision of the elementary school with an urgency to maximize every opportunity necessary to achieve ambitious student outcomes in all content areas. Foster a safe, culturally responsive, and nurturing community where students love learning and mathematics. Facilitate and monitor the implementation of the adopted math curricula, and support and assist teachers with the use of math curricula. Conduct ongoing formal and informal diagnostic assessments of students’ math progress and report results Support teachers in modifying instructional practices to support students with math challenges. Collect and track students' data, and interpret results of math assessment data to monitor student progress and identify modifications of instructional practices and strategies Develop, implement, and adapt math and numeracy instructional materials, technologies, and strategies in alignment with students’ math needs. Communicate with grade-level teams regarding individual student needs and provide meaningful feedback to students and families. Demonstrate commitment to the community by communicating regularly with families and attending key community events to share math resources Commitment to continuous growth, actively engage in professional development opportunities, and contribute to our professional learning community. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in elementary education, or a similar subject, required.
  • 3 years of teaching experience, required.
  • Experience using data-driven instructional practices to drive student achievement in mathematics.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in an elementary education or mathematics education field from an accredited college or university, preferred.
  • Current California Multiple Subject CLEAR Teaching Credential; a Mathematics Added Authorization or Foundational-Level Mathematics credential, preferred.
  • An equivalent out-of-state certificate or National Board Certificate in Mathematics or Early Childhood/Middle Childhood education.
