About The Position

The Mathematics Instructor is a full‐time, 9-month salaried position responsible for teaching Mathematics courses. These responsibilities involve implementing course syllabi, achieving student learning outcomes, evaluating student performance, record-keeping, and related activities. Related activities include, but are not limited to, advising, and participating in recruiting and retention efforts.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Mathematics or a Master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in Mathematics
  • Community College teaching experience in Math
  • Experience teaching online
  • Experience with classroom technology
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills required

Responsibilities

  • Teach Math courses, primarily Intermediate Beginning Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, and College Algebra
  • Prepare, administer, and grade essays, tests, other assignments, and/or program assessment data
  • Maintain a record of student attendance as required by the Mississippi Community College Board
  • Submit grades, attendance, and outcomes according to the academic calendar
  • Manage timely engagement, grading, and communication
  • Participate in departmental meetings and committee assignments
  • Complete 15 hours of professional development
  • Ability to travel between campus locations
  • Establish effective relationships with college administration, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Adhere to school policy as set in the Policy and Procedures Manual
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the District Director of Mathematics
