The Math Instructional Specialist position at Spring ISD is a one-year contract role funded through the LASO grant, requiring attendance at Carnegie Coaching Training to support the implementation of the Carnegie curriculum in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry. This position is designed to enhance the instructional capabilities of teachers and improve student outcomes in mathematics across the district. The specialist will work closely with campus leadership and curriculum specialists to ensure that the curriculum is implemented effectively and with fidelity. In this role, the specialist will be responsible for directing the implementation of core content curricula through monthly math coaching sessions, providing onsite job-embedded support and coaching in classrooms, and collaborating with other curriculum math specialists. The specialist will analyze and gather data to provide constructive feedback to educators, ensuring that the curriculum is being delivered as intended. Additionally, the specialist will develop and design professional learning sessions and participate in monthly collaborative meetings with other coaches. The position requires a strong commitment to the district's goals and the ability to inspire and motivate others. The specialist will be expected to demonstrate integrity, utilize feedback effectively, and drive for results that benefit students and staff alike. The role also involves various physical demands, including mobility, standing, and some lifting, as well as mental demands such as problem-solving and effective communication. Extended hours may be required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
