About The Position

Holy Cross Lutheran School is seeking an elementary Math Curriculum Coach for the 26/27 school year. The teacher in this position will be responsible for providing instruction to students in alignment with Indiana standards and work together with the elementary teaching team. The ideal teacher has both a strong knowledge of content as well as current best practices to meet diverse students needs. They will be able to design and facilitate engaging lessons utilizing formative assessment and guide instructions and provide ongoing student support and create a positive classroom environment.

Requirements

  • Math Coach needs 5 years experience minimum.
  • Passionate about math instruction.
  • Familiar with current research of how students learn.
  • Works well with others.
  • Good communicator.
  • Valid state department of education license/certificate appropriate for the position.
  • Meets Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) requirements (for core academic subjects).
  • Meets all mandated health requirements.
  • A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
  • Demonstrates mastery of subject areas, commitment to improving instruction, and professional growth.
  • Commitment to keep current with workplace innovations that enhance personal productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teachers to support them and work with them on best practices for their class of students.
  • Maintain open/effective communications.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of subject matter.
  • Organize appropriate subject content and learning goals.
  • Develop lesson plans that align with state standards.
  • Evaluate the academic needs of students.
  • Develop effective student educational experiences that engage and stimulate student learning.
  • Vary instructional techniques to address diverse student learning styles.
  • Communicate expectations, provide guidance, and show an active interest in student progress.
  • Help parents/students understand program objectives and performance standards.
  • Use formal and informal assessment strategies to manage student learning and monitor progress.
  • Encourage self-reliance, problem-solving, critical-thinking, creativity, and performance skills.
  • Maintain a positive learning environment and provide appropriate student supervision.
  • Collaborate with other staff and share knowledge and resources that enhance student learning.
  • Consult with parents as needed (e.g., phone calls, E-mail, notes meetings, etc.).
  • Proctor corporation testing activities as directed and uphold state mandated security procedures.
  • Uphold the student conduct code and implement effective pupil management procedures.
  • Participate in staff meetings, conferences, and other required school activities.
  • Pursue growth opportunities that enhance professional performance.
  • Perform other specific job-related duties as directed.
