About The Position

The Maternal Mental Wellness Director provides leadership for the Maternal Wellness Center at the Booker T. Washington Community Center, a three-year, bi3-funded initiative supporting Black and Hispanic mothers from pregnancy through three years postpartum. This role oversees day-to-day program operations, supervises wellness support staff, coordinates services delivered by external partners and providers, and ensures programming remains culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and grounded in community voice. The Director plays a central role in shaping a trusted, affirming space where mothers feel supported, respected, and connected. The Maternal Mental Wellness Director serves as the primary operational lead for the Maternal Wellness Center and works closely with BTW leadership to translate vision into lived experience for families. While this role does not hold final organizational authority, it is entrusted with meaningful autonomy to guide daily decisions that shape participant experience, staff support, partner engagement, and program flow. This is a build-and-grow role suited for a relational leader who is comfortable working in early-stage environments, supervising staff, and developing systems that honor care, dignity, and trust. The position is non-clinical and grounded in community-based, culturally affirming practice.
