About The Position

We are seeking a Materials & Structures Engineer who will own thermo-structural design and fabrication of propulsion components subjected to extreme envirnonments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or similar
• 5+ years experience with high-temperature composites or hypersonic structures
• Proficiency with ANSYS, ABAQUS, or COMSOL
• Experience with propulsion components

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Experience with silica phenolic manufacturing and/or other SRM insulation manufacturing processes.
• Experience designing for solid rocket or air-breathing propulsion

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structures exposed to 3000F+ environments
• Develop nozzle and combustor liners using novel materials
• Conduct thermal/structural FEA for heat soak-back, creep and fatigue
• Work with additive manufacturing vendors
• Evaluate coatings, ablatives, and insulation materials
• Support fabrication, inspection and failure analysis
