About The Position

As part of our recent growth, we are seeking an experienced Materials Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will receive, verify, and keep records on incoming and outgoing materials in the CMP Cage.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English through verbal communication, American Sign Language, or adaptive technology

  • Skill in organizing, identifying, estimating, and recognizing differences or similarities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and other inspection gauges.
  • Skill in performing mid-level math skills efficiently and accurately (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fraction and decimals).
  • Ability to take direction from lead and supervisor to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and directly co-workers and supervisory personnel both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure incoming materials to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records.
  • Receive customer orders and input into MRP system.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Route received material to appropriate departments.
  • Operate forklift lift or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
