About The Position

The Materials Specialist (North) at We Energies is responsible for managing all supply activities related to the procurement, handling, coordination, and disbursing of materials, equipment, and services for internal and external customers. This role involves quality inspection, inventory management, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to various job sites.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and compliance with company driving requirements.
• Obtain an interstate commercial driver's license (CDL) within 90 days of entry into the job.
• Comply with DOT CDL drug and alcohol testing requirements.
• Satisfy all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, including a background investigation.
• Demonstrate ability to perform physical functions of the position by completing a Physical Capacity Evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Work with business units, contractors, and suppliers to define and schedule resources to meet material and service requirements.
• Order materials and services from suppliers/providers using pre-established guidelines.
• Monitor storeroom levels and conduct physical reviews of stock balances to maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Unload materials, inspect for damage, and enter material/service data into the computer for tracking purposes.
• Contact suppliers and the sourcing group to resolve shipment and invoicing problems.
• Use equipment and hand tools to distribute materials to customers.
• Handle, prepare, and deliver materials to various company locations and job sites.
• Coordinate the packaging (kitting) and preassembly of materials for delivery.
• Coordinate job site delivery of materials and equipment as requested by business units.
• Order and dispose of hazardous materials.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as required or assigned.
