About The Position

The Materials Specialist III position is responsible for managing the handling and shipping of materials within Plant 2. This includes weighing packages, initiating billing, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring quality standards are met. The incumbent will also manage inventory, perform cycle counts, and participate in production meetings to meet daily shipment goals. The role requires interaction with contractors and the use of AES for international shipments.

Requirements

• Three to four years related experience and/or training.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Responsibilities

• Weighs all packages and determines freight rates.
• Initiates billing and loads/unloads trucks as required.
• Counts and packages parts to customer specifications.
• Receives, counts, and locates parts in correct bin locations.
• Makes record-keeping transactions to update MRP system.
• Performs cycle count activities to assure inventory accuracy.
• Scraps inventory according to company standards.
• Moves completed production whenever signed and stamped off.
• Participates in weekly production meetings and informs management of daily shipments.
• Manages receiving for all departments in Plant 2.
• Plans all material handling and keeps records of material movement.
• Manages contractors entering Plant 2 and ensures compliance with safety standards.
• Uses AES to manage all international shipments for Plant 2.
• Manages min/max for all shipping supplies.
• Keeps work area clean, safe, and orderly.
• Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required.
