Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience operating a personal computer for word processing and spreadsheet.
  • Valid Class (E) driver license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Knowledge of concepts, terminology, principles and analytical techniques of concrete.
  • Skills in using engineering tools, equipment and/or instruments.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret engineering data, solve problems relating to engineering, and perform technical engineering inspections.

Nice To Haves

  • Concrete Field Technician Level I qualification.
  • Experience in engineering design, construction, production and/or operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough inspections and evaluations of materials, components, facilities, and operations to ensure compliance with FDOT specifications, Quality Control plans, and contract requirements.
  • Conduct Independent Assurance evaluations per Department procedures and federal guidelines, upholding objectivity and professionalism.
  • Review QC and construction plans and related documents, providing clear and timely feedback.
  • Carry out field and laboratory testing in accordance with standards, ensuring accurate reporting and equipment upkeep.
  • Deliver technical support, guidance, and training to stakeholders; analyze materials data for compliance and trends; implement corrective actions as needed.
