The Novelis Global R&D team, located in Kennesaw, GA , is seeking a Materials Science and Engineering Co-op . This role is responsible for fundamental investigations in aluminum alloy welding, alloy design, advanced materials characterization and property testing, as well as processing development. This co-op will start May 2026 and end December 2026.
Requirements
- Experience in metallurgy and Al alloys.

- Research experience in the weldability of Al alloys.

Responsibilities
- Design experiments and perform welding testing on Al alloys.
- Test the mechanical and formability properties of Al alloys under various thermomechanical conditions.
- Perform advanced materials characterization, including experiment design, sample preparation, data collection, and post-analysis.
