Job Overview & Responsibilities This person will be responsible for supporting the material acquisition plans and must have the ability to work with the programs stakeholders in generating material requirements and providing the necessary support of acquisition plans from start to finish. The Material Planner works closely with internal teams, including production, logistics, procurement, quality, engineering and finance, to align procurement planning activities with business needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in supply chain
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Solid understanding of material requirements planning and supply chain processes
  • Must be able to organize, lead, and present material in high level meetings
  • Have the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly in order to support a production schedule
  • Basic understanding and operational skills required to support Lean Six Sigma
  • Strong communication and analytical skills that improve efficiency and assist in problem solving.
  • High School/GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors of Science or Arts (BS/BA) in a Supply Chain Management or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Experience working in SAP
  • Proficiency in material management accounting systems as well as other enterprise systems (SAP, Qnotes, RocketForge)
  • Experience driving process improvements within supply chain
  • Understanding of compliance and audit requirements for materials and operational processes
  • Knowledge of inventory management, procurement, and production operations

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and monitor the efficient movement of material from identification of the requirement to delivery to the end user.
  • Managing and actioning exception messages to maintain schedule adherence.
  • Define raw material scheduling requirements from engineering specifications and production schedules.
  • Performing tasks for incorporating engineering change activities.
  • Monitor and reconcile any relevant Supply Chain disruptions that develop throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Develop strategies, implement plans, and track progress for cost savings initiatives.
  • Create and maintain valid plans for material and capacity planning.
  • Validating and converting planned orders to Production Orders or Purchase Requisitions.
  • Ensuring converted orders are completed on schedule.
  • Balances supply and demand, performs initial hardware impact assessment, assigns, distributes and tracks tasks.
  • Leads and manages projects assigned by leadership to accomplish organizational objectives.
