About The Position

The Materials Purchasing & Tooling Specialist is responsible for providing accurate tooling, aircraft parts, and materials to the Repair Station floor personnel at Embraer. This role involves maintaining stock and inventory, purchasing quality goods and services in compliance with company standards, and ensuring efficient operations in the supply chain process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, purchasing, or aerospace preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in aerospace or aviation shipping and receiving.
  • 2+ years of experience in aerospace purchasing and inventory control.
  • Fluency in English and knowledge of HAZMAT protocols.
  • Forklift experience and valid Motor Vehicle Driver's License required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Quantum or similar systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Executive Jets/Corporate Repair Station or Military MRO environments.
  • Knowledge of aircraft parts and tooling.
  • Basic office skills and familiarity with internet tools.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and responds to material order requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Determines best supply source by analyzing price and delivery methods.
  • Identifies cost-effective products and reliable transportation methods.
  • Reviews vendor details including cost, quantity, quality, and delivery deadlines.
  • Enters and updates material requests and new vendors in Quantum.
  • Obtains approval for purchase requisitions and converts them to purchase orders.
  • Ensures compliance with purchase order requirements.
  • Monitors and updates purchase orders in the database.
  • Communicates with vendors and transportation companies for timely shipments.
  • Reports on critical shipment statuses and resolves issues with suppliers.
  • Maintains accurate records of approvals, orders, and received items.
  • Coordinates return of defective or incorrect shipments.
  • Processes EMBRAER rotable inventory and core returns.
  • Completes Warranty Claim forms for processing.
  • Identifies and maintains stock and tools for the Hangar Floor and Stock Room.
  • Arranges for disposal of surplus materials and maintains inventory integrity.
  • Follows safety precautions and HAZMAT protocols.
  • Locates and issues materials to technicians as needed.
  • Initiates procurement activity based on requisitions and performs inventory counts.
  • Prepares usage reports for management review.
  • Reports shipping discrepancies and traces shipments.
  • Prepares tooling and parts for shipment, determining packaging requirements.
  • Builds and repairs shipping crates as necessary.
  • Selects routing for outbound shipments and maintains shipping records.
