About The Position

This position supports functions related to the Investment Recovery operation by providing repair, refurbish, reuse, and salvage of company inventory and equipment. The Materials Processor position is a starting position level in Energy Delivery Investment Recovery.

Requirements

  • High School / GED diploma required.
  • Must have a valid CDL 'D' (or higher) driver's license, with HAZMAT endorsement to qualify, or possess successful completion of the CDL Class 'A' written exam, with 90 days to pass the driving portion and obtain the full CDL Class 'A' license, with HAZMAT endorsement from the job starting date.
  • Successful completion of OSHA-required HAZWOPER training and certification.
  • Tractor-trailer driving, forklift, industrial, chemical, or mechanical work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operation of company vehicles, equipment, machinery, and tools including, but not limited to, fork lift, boom truck, prentice loader, tractor trailer, back-hoe, baler, vibratory polisher, glass bead machine, hydraulic cable cutter, welder, reel-o-matic, scales, cutting torch, grinder, drill, and saw.
  • Knowledge of company materials and material handling including, but not limited to, analytical understanding of scrap and return to stock processes; loading and unloading methods with respect to wood poles, transformer oil, transformers, and bulk material loading/unloading with use of rigging devices; basic understanding of recycling efforts including, scrap metal, wire/cable, and cardboard.
  • Testing and repair abilities of material and equipment including, but not limited to, streetlight, lightning arrester, lamp/bulb, relay, poleline hardware, and minor tool repair.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices and general housekeeping with respect to shop cleaning and material/tool storage.
  • Knowledge of hazardous material handling and knowledge of EPA regulation including PCB/PCBC handling and clean up, and RCRA/SPCC standards.
