About The Position

The Materials & Processes (M&P) Engineer is responsible to ensure product integrity during design, manufacturing, repair, and aftermarket service for the Héroux-Devtek Landing Gear Division.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in materials or metallurgical engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of four (4) years in the metallurgical industry, preferably in aerospace
  • Expertise in landing gear materials and processes related, such as high strength steel, aluminum and titanium alloys, heat treating, plating, peening, forging, casting and NDT processes
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Practical experience with metallurgical laboratory testing
  • Must be able to operate independently.
  • Must be able to make sound engineering decisions.
  • Candidates must meet security screening requirements as set out by ITAR directives.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, qualify, approve and specify all materials and processes used on landing gear design components.
  • Technically support manufacturing operations related to M&P: specifications, procedures, manufacturing plans, process techniques, deviations, substitutions, repair, MRB dispositions, certifications, corrective action, operator training certification, internal and external audits, efficiency and cost reduction projects.
  • Act as a delegated M&PE approved by customer for all manufactured designated parts: manufacturing plan and process technique approval, as applicable.
  • Represent the company as an active M&P member and subscriber within the Nadcap councils: meeting, task groups, internal processes and external process supplier accreditation.
