About The Position

The Materials & Processes (M&P) Engineer is responsible to ensure product integrity during design, manufacturing, repair, and aftermarket service for the Héroux-Devtek Landing Gear Division.

Requirements

Bachelor degree in materials or metallurgical engineering or equivalent
Minimum of four (4) years in the metallurgical industry, preferably in aerospace
Expertise in landing gear materials and processes related, such as high strength steel, aluminum and titanium alloys, heat treating, plating, peening, forging, casting and NDT processes
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Practical experience with metallurgical laboratory testing
Must be able to operate independently.
Must be able to make sound engineering decisions.
Candidates must meet security screening requirements as set out by ITAR directives.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, qualify, approve and specify all materials and processes used on landing gear design components.
Technically support manufacturing operations related to M&P: specifications, procedures, manufacturing plans, process techniques, deviations, substitutions, repair, MRB dispositions, certifications, corrective action, operator training certification, internal and external audits, efficiency and cost reduction projects.
Act as a delegated M&PE approved by customer for all manufactured designated parts: manufacturing plan and process technique approval, as applicable.
Represent the company as an active M&P member and subscriber within the Nadcap councils: meeting, task groups, internal processes and external process supplier accreditation.
