Job Title Materials Process Operator Utilizing manual and automated equipment, processes raw materials into high-quality ceramic powders for use in producing finished goods. Automation systems are highly process integrated and apply to routine and repeatable production processes in support of their efficient operation. Roles & Responsibilities: Follow all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) procedures as required. Identify opportunities for safety improvements. Performs startups, shutdowns and product mix changes across standardized production processes with manual and basic automation components Identify technical problems and implement routine or directed solutions Follows documented and scheduled maintenance procedures Follow routine and repeatable work instructions and product mix specifications and may encounter special instructions in the preparation of ceramic material. Learns and applies manufacturing principles and best practices as the method to most effectively complete their work. Work closely with other operators to share information for production continuity between shifts, process steps or departments Perform in-process quality testing for assigned process area Safely operate powered industrial equipment to move material to and from locations within the facility. Maintain workspace cleanliness and follow appropriate 6S practices. Assist in accurately tracking all inventory, supplies, and raw materials.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic reading and math skills
  • Must meet all training requirements as defined by department
  • Experience: 1-2 years of manufacturing experience a plus
  • Forklift operation required, experience a plus
  • Communication: Shares information, ideas, feelings, and observations clearly, while also taking the time to listen and respond to others.
  • Technology Use: Ability and willingness to learn and navigate various devices and software programs including touch screen technology
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Basic mechanical aptitude including selection and use of hand and power tools
  • Detail Oriented: Ability to understand and act on verbal and written instructions to complete tasks with increasing accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Time Management: Effectively uses time and proactively follows priorities to meet set targets
  • Position Specific Physical Requirements Ability to lift 60 lbs.
  • Ability to work from ladders when performing tasks.
  • Must be able to climb and descend stairs throughout work shift.
  • Must be able to work in a cold or hot work environment.
  • May be exposed to a wet or dusty work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Semi-automated machine operation experience preferred
