About The Position

Inside the Role Portland Truck Plant is redefining itself to become the Innovation Plant inside the DTNA network using the latest technology to support the introduction of the Electric Truck and new Vocational product lines. Play a valuable role in producing these premium products in the Portland Truck Plant. This role will Interface with suppliers and cross-functionally with other DTNA departments (may include Engineering, Changeover, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, Aftermarket, and Supplier Management) to solve complex supply chain issues. We Take Care of Our Team What You Drive Process the material planning, major components and vendor notification systems to meet production demands. Expedite and coordinate parts orders between vendors, traffic departments, and other locations within the DTNA network to avoid shortages. Monitor changes in production schedules and inventories to ensure orders and material flow are adjusted to meet production demands. Improve performance of non-controlled material through shortage reduction / improved fill rates. Articulate plant concerns with changeover coordinators and planners to ensure the smooth transition of series changes and new product launches. Develop good product knowledge of controlled parts, including assembly practices and how they relate to material flow. Assist with the training of entry-level material planners. Identify continuous improvement ideas and support their implementation, particularly within material management processes; develop any reports necessary to support the process and present to management as required. Manage the supply of office materials and process expenses in Concur. Support SAP material order process, create PR’s and PO’s, and support production orders for dispo / offline and expedite with suppliers. Monitor changes in production schedule and inventories to ensure orders meet production needs, optimize the fluid order process, and evaluate supplier performance. Ensure the timely delivery of reports to production supervisors. Knowledge You Should Bring Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college with 2 years or relevant experience OR 4 years relevant experience in lieu of a degree Previously demonstrated experience in problem solving Proficient with Microsoft Office Communication, verbal and written Exceptional Candidates Might Have Experience in supplier management, logistics, manufacturing, and parts planning Where We Work This position is open to applicants who can work in (or relocate to) the following location(s)- Portland, OR US. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college with 2 years or relevant experience OR 4 years relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Previously demonstrated experience in problem solving
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Communication, verbal and written
