About The Position

The Materials Planner II position at WSSC Water is responsible for managing the inventory program at a production plant MRO warehouse, ensuring that necessary parts are available to meet operational needs. This role involves logistics support, contract management, and effective communication with vendors and operational staff to maintain supply levels and resolve performance issues.

Requirements

  • High School diploma (or equivalent).
  • 4+ years of inventory control and project or contract management experience.
  • Ability to manage contracts and projects.
  • Knowledge of contemporary methods and practices of inventory management and control.
  • Skill in operating MS Office software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of nationally recognized procurement certification: ISM, CPSM, PMP.
  • Experience with Oracle software.
  • Public procurement experience.
  • Familiarity with industrial MRO supplies such as pipes, valves, fittings, motors, and industrial electrical supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain a production plant MRO warehouse, stockroom(s), and/or store yard.
  • Manage the inventory program to ensure parts are on hand to meet operational needs.
  • Provide comprehensive logistics support services to a Production Team facility.
  • Place material delivery releases against awarded inventory commodity contracts.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and supply data on assigned contracts.
  • Work closely with vendors to resolve performance problems and report compliance issues to the Procurement Dept.
  • Process changes/modifications requests against assigned contracts and perform contract closeout activities.
  • Monitor supply and manufacturer's data, including specifications and unit costs.
  • Communicate with plant maintenance or operational staff for contract support and logistics operations sustainment.
  • Operate a variety of powered and non-powered warehouse equipment.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly salary ranging from $28.34 to $48.18 per hour.
  • Full-time position with a regular work schedule from Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
