About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Materials Movement Specialist (Forklift Operator) to join our Warehouse Department at the Leavenworth Production Facility. Individuals in this role are responsible for transporting stock and recycled materials between the warehouse and production areas, supporting the seamless flow of materials essential to our operations. This position is on 2nd Shift (3:30pm – 12:00am) Monday through Friday. Starting pay is $21.35/hour plus $1.25/hour for 2nd shift differential (total $22.60/hr).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Ability to frequently move materials weighing 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds from the floor.
  • Ability to stand and walk approximately 95% of the time.
  • Ability to frequently push, pull, twist, bend, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Current forklift certification or certification held within the past 12 months.

  • Ability to understand and operate computer and ordering systems.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and perform under pressure to meet deadlines and changing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of material movement equipment and attachments, including sit-down/stand-up propane and electric-powered forklifts, roll clamps, box clamps, push/pull slipsheeters, and hi-bay reach trucks.
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing trailers, and move pallets on and off conveyors using freight elevators as needed.
  • Locate stock in the warehouse and fill manufacturing orders using powered equipment.
  • Operate corrugate and paper balers to compress recyclable materials into bales, and transport hazardous waste in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Complete all documentation related to stock movement accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with recycling and other contractors for the pick-up and delivery of storage containers and trailers.
  • Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance on balers and power equipment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by moving to different work assignments as needed and learning multiple tasks within the job classification.
  • Participate positively in performance dialogues and team problem-solving activities, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Communicate effectively with outside vendors and other departments.
  • Utilize good safety practices at all times.
