About The Position
The Materials Management Specialist I at Carilion Clinic coordinates, administers, implements, and assists in the development of the supply support system which operates efficiently and meets the needs of the patient and the site/organization Materials Management Department. The role involves cleaning, preparing, and transporting medical equipment, as well as performing replenishment of supplies to ensure sufficient availability. The specialist is responsible for the timely, accurate, and efficient picking and staging of requisitions, inspecting, receiving, and stocking inventory items to maintain appropriate par levels. Additionally, the position includes assembling, repackaging, or replenishing kits, components, and carts, and performing regularly scheduled pick-ups and deliveries of medical equipment. The specialist operates computers and materials handling equipment, monitors supplies for proper labeling and integrity, and meets departmental budgetary goals and performance indicators.
