Materials Manager
About The Position
The Materials Manager will report to the General Manager. The position will manage the areas of Materials Quote / Sourcing, Purchasing, Demand Planning, Logistics, Materials Flow and Inventory Control. Quick Summary The Materials Manager is responsible for the strategic direction, continuous improvement, and overall metric performance of the areas under his/her supervision. This includes Materials Quote/Sourcing, Purchasing, Demand Planning, Logistics, Materials Flow and Inventory Control. The goal is to maximize material availability for production with the lowest possible total cost to support our excellent customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Knowledge of shop floor control and ERP systems
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain
- Familiar with business and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of lean concepts
- Ability to motivate and develop their direct reports
- The ability to work with all levels of the organization (Operators, engineers, leadership)
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Nice To Haves
- CPIM certification a plus
