JOB PURPOSE This role will oversee key areas including materials planning, scheduling, inventory control, cash flow management, and asset coordination. You will collaborate with suppliers, business unit managers, purchasing teams, production planners, IT, and other stakeholders to strategically coordinate the flow of materials and information from customer procurement to delivery. This position will also provide matrix management to support production planning, shipping, receiving, and inventory functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or materials management
  • 5 years of equivalent experience in scheduling and planning within a diverse repair or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement and materials management activities, including order placement, supplier reduction/evaluation/certification, supplier follow-up, and pricing strategies.
  • Oversee the development and utilization of the Quantum ERP system by the materials team.
  • Develop sourcing and procurement strategies focused on speed, cost reduction, and diversification of suppliers.
  • Define, implement, or update automated systems to plan and track material flow from vendors through to delivery, in support of a robust supply chain management strategy.
  • Conduct material reviews for evaluating and disposing of rejected materials.
  • Drive improvements in inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and location management.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels (min/max).
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements in planning, procurement, and inventory control.
  • Collaborate with Finance to develop and manage department budgets within established guidelines.
  • Implement and sustain procurement-to-delivery material and system cost reduction programs.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the materials team, clearly communicating and enforcing company policies and procedures.
  • Promote and implement lean manufacturing principles within the division.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge of general office clerical procedures.
  • Ability to regularly exercise sound judgment.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Quantum ERP system and proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Will participate in and support safety initiatives, safe work practices and compliance.
  • Will participate in safety activities including the following: immediately reporting hazards, unsafe work practices and accidents/injuries.
  • Will follow all safety rules, FAA regulations, PPE compliance and equipment operation requirements.
