About The Position

The Materials Manager provides leadership for Purchasing, Planning, and inventory management, working closely with Operations, Customer Service, and Sales to optimize material flow and meet business objectives. This role drives efficiency in manufacturing, implements industry best practices, and develops systems and ERP capabilities to reduce lead times, control costs, and maintain high levels of delivery performance.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or similar disciplines.
• 5years of experience in material management or supply chain operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for supplier management efforts, aligning supplier development and ongoing management activities to promote collaboration and overall effectiveness
• Partner with Engineering and Quality to evaluate, qualify, and approve new supplier vendors
• Provide direct leadership and oversight of Purchasing and Planning functions, and collaborate with the Operations team to support effective inventory management
• Provide leadership and development for the Planning group to improve manufacturing efficiency without compromising delivery or inventory targets
• Lead the effective management and flow of raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods, including management of aged inventory
• Establish and execute industry best practices that drive effective inventory management and schedule performance
• Work cross-functionally with Customer Service and Sales to align inventory solutions with customer demand and Kendall Howard’s business goals
• Direct activities and implement systems that continuously shorten lead times, lower inventory costs, and sustain strong delivery performance for customers
• Lead ERP system enhancement initiatives and develop ERP super users to ensure optimal system performance and adoption
