About The Position

The Stores Supervisor II is accountable for the receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies to the using departments and for maintaining an appropriate stock level of supplies.

Requirements

  • High School education with three (3) years experience in stores or purchasing.
  • Must be able to communicate and get along with Administrative Personnel and other department heads.
  • Must possess the physical ability needed to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally; and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently; and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for medium work.
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
  • Responsible for the security and efficiency of the storeroom.
  • Responsible for proper record keeping of stores department.

Responsibilities

  • Implements, interprets and maintains work standards and procedures that are in compliance with corporate and departmental policies, governmental regulations and various regulatory agency requirements. Assists in the development of these work standards and procedures.
  • Supervises the employees in an efficient manner by planning, organizing, and controlling all activities of the department to obtain maximum results.
  • Assures that appropriate and accurate records are prepared on a timely basis.
  • Evaluates subordinates on a regular basis.
  • Makes recommendations for employment, promotion, disciplinary action, and termination of employment.
  • Assures that employees receive orientation and in-service training.
  • Requisitions, receives, stores and distributes all storeroom items, including medical and surgical gases, linen and uniforms.
  • Controls and maintains an appropriate level of inventory.
  • Receives and processes all incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Conducts physical inventories of all items in store room as required by Materials Management, Central Accounting, and Administration.
  • Prepare forms for disposal of capital equipment.
  • Returns goods or equipment to be repaired or for credit.
  • Prepares and files claim reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
