About The Position

The Materials Tech is an all-around team member trained to perform various functions within the Materials Management department. Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, Senior Materials Tech, or OR Materials Supervisor, this role involves PAR and inventory management, supply and equipment receiving, delivery, and inventory management, and OR case carts as directed. The specific tasks performed may vary based on hospital volume and departmental staffing.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Basic computer skills including MS Windows.

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (ex. fax machine, printers, PC’s).
  • Ability to handle supply carts and operate cardboard compactor, manual and powered pallet jacks.
  • If applicable, possess a valid, current South Carolina driver's license and be insurable under the organization vehicle insurance plan.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience in a storeroom or warehouse, or previous customer service or retail experience.
  • Proficient in PMM Pathways, with Supply Tracking System and the ability to use hand held scanners.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a vehicle for the organization, if applicable, requiring a valid, current South Carolina driver's license and insurability under the organization's vehicle insurance plan.
  • Count and check inventories at PAR locations.
  • Pick and deliver products to PAR locations.
  • Fill on-demand requests for supplies.
  • Rotate stock at PAR locations.
  • Check for outdates at PAR locations.
  • Issue products from the storeroom.
  • Put away stock.
  • Credit products.
  • Replenish products.
  • Pick orders.
  • Assist with cycle counts.
  • Assist in cleaning the storeroom.
  • Deliver products from the storeroom when ordered.
  • Pick materials for case carts from inventory based on pick tickets.
  • Communicate any shortages or discrepancies immediately to the appropriate Logistics Manager or OR Materials Supervisor.
  • Receive products into the Materials Management system.
  • Deliver products ordered by customers in a timely manner and request signatures as required.
  • Utilize handheld scanners appropriately to track chain of custody for packages received and delivered throughout the health system.
  • Follow defined processes to ensure receipts are accurate prior to placing products into inventory.
  • Assist in keeping delivery areas clean and functional.
