Nemours is seeking a Materials Management TECH (Full-Time), to join our Nemours Children's Hospital team in Wilmington, DE. The role involves receiving, inspecting, warehousing, storing, transporting/delivering, issuing, safeguarding, accounting for, and replenishing medical material supplies and equipment at required locations in a timely fashion. The technician will process receipts for incoming supplies, ensuring quality and quantity of materials match supporting documentation, and noting discrepancies. The position requires performing required computer operations functions and operating material handling equipment. Special handling procedures for storing hazardous material must be applied, and personal protection equipment utilized as required. The technician will perform inventories and quality assurance inspections, prepare and process documents and transactions required, monitor requests, and implement materials activities for inventory control, accounting, and management of supplies and equipment. The role is responsible for the timely distribution/replenishment of all medical supplies and equipment, ensuring all clinical equipment with an electrical component is delivered to Clinical Engineering for testing/inspection prior to delivery. The technician will perform rounding of all patient care areas/nodes to identify required materials management support, inspect all materials for possible damage, defect, or expiration, and immediately report/communicate findings while ensuring discrepancies are annotated for record. Additionally, the technician will identify, process, and tag all Capital items received in accordance with the Foundation Capital Policy, maintain appropriate communication with Managers/Associates as needed to facilitate the flow of items, and ensure regular communication with department managers to have the most current associate listings. The role also involves implementing materials activities for supply/equipment inventory distribution and control, ensuring necessary corrective actions and documentation are taken, and performing, organizing, and monitoring medical materials management functions. Finally, the technician will prepare and validate computer input data to establish, revise, and maintain accountable records, following all departmental SOPs as related to job functions.
