Provides the hospital with materials to the designated areas in an expedient manner and maintains accountability of supply distribution and services performed. Performs inventory reviews as assigned by the department manager to ensure adequate supply distribution management. Maintain system data in Lawson to support item changes, vendor updates and demand variations. Builds client relationships with Nurse Managers and Buyer. Ensure proper training/coaching delivered to new Materials Handling Technicians. STATUS: Full Time LOCATION: UMMC- North Street Campus 127 North Street DEPARTMENT: Materials Management SCHEDULE: Days, Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30p ATTRIBUTES College degree or equivalent. • Familiarity with ERP Systems. • Strong attention to detail and communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Minimum Qualifications: One (1) year of materials handling or related work experience Required Licensure/Certification Skills: None Responsibilities: • Leads inventory optimization projects to drive cost improvement. Efforts include rightsizing, LUM, stocking strategy and workflow. Managing conversion changes from end to end, with assistance from MM leaders as needed. • Demonstrates a clear understanding of inventory management preferably in a perpetual inventory system. • Builds client relationships with Nurse Managers and ACL/CNL Team. • Trouble shoot daily system issues, documenting root cause/corrective action plan engaging stakeholders as required. • Point person for problem resolution for all end users. • Trains and coaches new Materials Management Technicians as assigned. • Run daily/weekly/monthly reports to ensure proper workflow and dashboard updates. • Review existing processes for process variations in physical workflow. • Assist in resolving stock outs, substitutions and back orders. Supply & Distribution Management: • Ensures neat and orderly appearance of carts and storage areas. • Process all inventory discrepancies as necessary to update system. • Ensures all overstock material is properly stored and transacted in accordance with process. • Ensures assignments are completed on time daily. • Retrieve data to analyze and adjust stock levels as required • Process purchasing Reqs in Lawson as required to ensure on time delivery of product. Receiving: • Ensure materials are kept in their proper location and maintains an organized work area. • Verifies incoming material is accounted for by reviewing receiving paperwork and physical product. • Discrepancies are escalated to the buyer to be corrected. • Receives, rotates and forwards all incoming material to its appropriate location for pickup and delivery. • Prioritizes urgent shipments (e.g., frozen items, human tissue) and delivers in an appropriate time-sensitive manner. • Assists hospital personnel and individuals from affiliated facilities in obtaining material in solving related problems. • Transports materials to designated areas with documentation in a timely manner. • Performs physical inventory and ensures accurate counts of all inventory items. • Operates and maintains equipment in a safe manner. • Maintains a clean and safe working area. • Completes cleaning assignment as assigned. • Attends fire safety and in-services. • Performs all other duties as assigned. EDUCATION: LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: H - Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires constant walking, standing or squatting.
