The Center for Community Health, opened in January 2021 in the heart of Park Slope at our NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and sets a new bar in personalized outpatient care -- from diagnosis to treatment -- by integrating new technologies and innovative clinical approaches to provide the highest quality care and enhance the patient experience. This 400,000 –square foot, multi-specialty ambulatory center encompasses a Comprehensive Cancer and Women’s Health Center, 12 ambulatory surgery operating rooms and Multispecialty physician practices. Our new state-of-the-art building encompasses three 600-ton chillers, five individual air handling units and Schneider control systems. Materials Management Associate – Center for Community Health –Day Shift In this role, as a Materials Management Associate, you will perform in a multi-faceted capacity, all duties related to Materials Management including inventory control and distribution. Bring your skills to the table & join a winning team & help ensure the timely & accurate receipt, ordering, processing, distribution and rotation of medical/surgical supplies to various departments. You will support and adhere to the Hospital’s Mission, Vision and Values Statements and performs according to the Hospital’s standards for Customer Service. This is a full-time day shift position 7:00am-3:00pm Monday-Friday, located at the NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital Center for Community Health.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • One year of related experience.
  • Standing, walking, sitting, push/pull/lift 10+ lbs, reaching, talking, hearing, exposure to weather, dust/vapors, fumes.
  • Other: operate & clean equipment.
  • Basic computer literacy is required.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Good written and basic mathematical ability; attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills demonstrated through courteous and cooperative relations with hospital staff, patients, visitors, and the public
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize
  • Must be willing to be flexible as regards scheduling that results from staff/patient variance.
  • Must understand and practice good customer service skills
  • Must be able to appropriately, and positively interact with patients, visitors and staff from diversified backgrounds.
  • Must commit to uphold patient safety/confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties related to Materials Management including inventory control and distribution.
