About The Position

ChristianaCare is looking for a full-time Materials Management Assistant I at our Distribution Center to prepare, distribute, and monitor shipping workload for a team of pickers, replenishers, dock workers, and drivers as outlined by priority, maintain dock flow, coordinate truck loading/departures, escalating urgent requests, and end of shift reporting.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of basic computer operations with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Skill in oral and written communication
  • Ability to plan, organize, and handle various tasks simultaneously with appropriate follow up
  • Ability to function both independently and as part of a group
  • Ability to establish and maintain superior quality customer relations and react in professional manner with staff, leadership, and visitors when dealing with conflict
  • Incumbent must be able to lift at least 35 lbs. and be able to pull approx. 450-500 lbs.
  • Position requires substantial amounts of standing, sitting, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and stooping.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years related Material Distribution Clerk or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts daily huddle reviewing key metrics and important updates in absence of lead or supervisor
  • Prepare and distribute work, monitor workflow (wave management), and escalate when shifting resources to support order completion is needed
  • Report end of shift updates in required formats - using Outlook, Excel, and Teams
  • Respond to and execute urgent/emergency requests timely
  • Backfill in support roles as needed to include picking, the dock, and driver assisted loading/unloading
  • Train new caregivers in shipping functions
  • Operates computer/office systems for business purposes only
  • Operate lift equipment in a safe manner - powered pallet jack/walkie/reach/order picker
  • Operate wrap machine and RF scanners
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and completes cycle counts after physical confirmation
  • Interacts with staff, visitors, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
  • Housekeeping as outlined in department specifics
  • Demonstrates compliance with CCHS and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
