About The Position

NorthStar Energy Services is seeking a Material Handling – Supervisor to oversee the flow of materials, tools, and equipment that support field construction operations in Colorado City, TX. This role manages the receiving, tracking, and expediting of materials between warehouses, vendors, and job sites. Acting as the main point of contact for logistics, this position ensures that crews have the resources they need to stay on schedule and on budget. On-site project location: Colorado City, Tx. Per Diem: $145/day.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in shipping/receiving, warehousing, or material expediting.
  • 2 years in a supervisory role, preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and supply chain logistics.
  • Proficiency with ERP or inventory management systems; advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret packing slips, purchase orders, and delivery schedules.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain, preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in warehouse and outdoor environments, preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work at the project site for an extended period of time.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including inspection, documentation, and routing of materials.
  • Oversee warehouse staff and ensure inventory systems are accurate and up to date.
  • Expedite critical materials and track vendor deliveries, proactively resolving shortages and delays.
  • Develop and maintain shipping logs, bills of lading (BOL), and purchase order documentation.
  • Stage materials for upcoming projects and schedule timely deliveries to job sites.
  • Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and procurement teams to align logistics with project priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols in warehouses, yards, and during transport activities.
  • Operate and supervise the safe use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Provide regular reporting on inventory levels, delivery timelines, and cost controls.
  • Mentor and train logistics personnel, enforcing standard procedures for shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
