About The Position

Kamatics is seeking a Materials Handler who is responsible for receiving, storing, moving, and issuing raw materials and finished goods to support production and shipping operations. This role performs hands-on material handling using forklifts, cranes, saws, and other material handling equipment to ensure materials are accurately received, properly stored, and delivered to production in accordance with work orders, quality standards, and safety requirements. The Materials Handler works closely with Purchasing, Production, Quality, and Shipping to maintain material flow, inventory accuracy, and compliance with company procedures. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 4–6 years of experience in material handling, shipping and receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift and overhead crane operating experience required.
  • Experience using ERP systems required; FS Cloud ERP experience preferred.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy

  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as business needs require.
  • This position requires access to information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Employment is contingent upon the applicant being a “U.S. person” as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15), which includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees, as required by U.S. export control laws

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using ERP systems required; FS Cloud ERP experience preferred.
  • Experience with blueprint reading and basic instrument calibration preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving activities for raw materials and finished goods, including unloading trucks, verifying piece count, material condition, and packing slips, and ensuring accurate receipt of materials into inventory.
  • Handle raw materials ranging from approximately 1-inch to 12-inch diameter, including relocating materials from suppliers to inventory locations and issuing materials to production work orders.
  • Operate material handling equipment including forklifts and overhead cranes to move materials safely and efficiently throughout the facility.
  • Use saws and other capital equipment to cut or prepare raw material as required to support production needs.
  • Perform shipping support activities, including verification of outbound material, review of air waybills and bills of lading, and coordination with internal teams and carriers as needed.
  • Execute raw material store functions, including loading and unloading bulk materials, transferring materials to internal departments or outside vendors, and maintaining accurate material flow.
  • Issue materials to jobs and work orders, ensuring correct material type, quantity, and documentation.
  • Participate in cycle counting and inventory control activities to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Identify material, surface, dimensional, visual, or documentation non-conformities and report issues to Materials, Quality, and cell leadership in accordance with Kamatics quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot material flow and process issues, resolving problems or escalating as appropriate.
  • Support material processing activities as needed, including: 1. Processing purchase orders and related documentation for outside process suppliers. 2. Maintaining and updating visual status boards for jobs at outside process suppliers. 3. Assisting with raw material review and approval processes and initiating laboratory testing in accordance with lab card requirements.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with established productivity, quality, safety, and environmental standards and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; follow all safety and environmental regulations and promptly report incidents.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S activities within the work area.
  • Provide a high level of service to internal and external customers and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
  • Participates in training/cross training and perform other duties as assigned.
