Always moving forward! > IN THE NEWS A Material Handler is responsible for preparing and transporting raw materials and finished products between production, storage, and warehouse areas. They receive training from a Recycle Technician or Shift Leader to operate recycling equipment and act as the primary backup and break relief for Recycle Technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely while adhering to established safety procedures
  • Comply with Quality Management Systems by following established procedures, performing quality checks and ensuring adherence to quality standards
  • Be present during scheduled work hours and attend all required meetings
  • Maintain excellent standards for housekeeping by keeping equipment and surrounding workspace clean and organized
  • Responsible for following Lock Out Tag Out procedures
  • Inspect and verify raw materials (scrap) and remove any contaminants
  • Transport raw materials to the production lines
  • Accurately complete production paperwork
  • Maintain consistent production rates on the conveyor belt
  • Input data for raw material scrap and finished goods resin into the computerized inventory system
  • Monitor filters and perform daily maintenance, including cleaning or replacing them as needed
  • Anticipate job changes and prepare and stock raw materials and packaging
  • Organize paperwork and print any necessary labels
  • Transport weighed materials to the designated locations
  • Ensure production lines are supplied with raw materials according to the specified recipe
  • Measure material fall out
  • Break apart bales, load the belt, and spread bags evenly on the belt
  • Responsible for inventory management
  • Perform daily maintenance on the forklift
  • Aid the recycle technician as needed
  • Serve as break relief for material handlers and recycle technicians
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
