About The Position

The position ensures that products are stored and transported to the point of use in a timely, efficient, and chronologically correct manner while adhering to all business and safety guidelines. The role also involves assisting in other areas of manufacturing as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1 to 3 years of job-related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English
  • Good organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and strong multitasking abilities
  • Basic computer skills
  • Motivated to grow and develop skills for advancement
  • Basic knowledge of machine operation and plastic injection molding is a plus
  • Basic math skills required to accurately count and record part production

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Material Handler experience with use of Forklift and Hand Jacks is preferred
  • Good manufacturing practices

Responsibilities

  • Fill and empty machines
  • Transport finished product, components, or raw material within the molding/automation department and throughout the plant area
  • Mix materials
  • Empty grinder pans
  • Sweep and clean-up
  • Provide operator relief
  • Operate hand and lift trucks, and production equipment
  • Assist set-up technician with mold set-ups and automation changeovers
  • Troubleshoot minor repairs and complete associated paperwork
  • Maintain responsibility for organization and cleanliness of the workstation
  • Make material/color changes in a timely manner
  • Ensure proper flow of material to prevent operation ceasing due to lack of supplies
  • Store and utilize products in FIFO mode
  • Evaluate material vacuum/drying system problems using problem-solving techniques
  • Move, wrap, and label finished products when directed
  • Document lot control where required
  • Remove old labels from gaylords, boxes, and totes
  • Maintain proper rotation of raw materials/components
  • Report inventory of raw goods to the materials team weekly by conducting physical inventory in the rack area
  • Ensure accuracy of materials placed inside the room and back into inventory using ERP System
  • Follow all safety guidelines
