Physical Sciences Laboratories (PSL) supports the effective and timely development and operation of national security systems through scientific research and the application of advanced technologies. PSL has more than 150 specialized laboratories used to test, analyze, and troubleshoot virtually every aspect of rocket and satellite system design, development, construction, deployment, and operation. The diverse expertise of the laboratories' technical staff allows PSL to stay abreast of new technological developments and program support issues associated with rapidly evolving space systems. As the Materials Evaluation Engineer (Associate Member of the Technical Staff or Member of Technical Staff- Materials Science), you will support non-destructive analysis of structural components for launch and space vehicles. Additionally, you would use these techniques for in-situ measurements during various mechanical tests or processing steps of structural materials as part of failure analysis, anomaly resolution, and applied research. The ideal candidate will also participate in fabrication, processing, and characterization of these materials and work with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research.
