The Role: The Advanced Purity Solutions, Materials Engineering Team is seeking a creative and innovative individual to help accelerate the development of next generation materials to meet the needs of leading semiconductor technology developers. This role of Materials Engineering Intern reports to the Senior Manager, Materials Engineering. AI, loT, Automation, and Digitization are fueling growth in the semiconductor industry. This is creating opportunities at Entegris as we develop leading-edge polymeric materials to meet these technology demands. Requirements

  • Experience with formulation and development of polymeric compounds
  • Analytical background with working knowledge of chemical and polymer analysis laboratory instrumentation and methodologies
  • Knowledge of polymer manufacturing and processing including injection molding, rotomolding, blow molding, and extrusion
  • Experience using structured DOE and statistical methods in an R&D environment
  • Basic understanding of Root Cause and Corrective Action processes and tools
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Materials / Chemical / Polymer Engineering
  • Graduation date of spring 2026 or later

  • Must be a currently enrolled student
  • Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in mid-May/June through August/September.
  • Must be familiar with the universities requirements to participate in an internship program
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

Responsibilities

  • Lead polymer development projects involving cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, product management, sales, and marketing, and global supply management)
  • Use your materials expertise to create materials solutions based on customer-defined product and application needs
  • Develop test/qualification plans and success criteria for a given application
  • Provide support to engineering and other departments on new and existing materials issues (manufacturing, processing, incoming quality issues)
  • Investigate material failures to determine root cause and work with cross functional teams to recommend corrective actions
  • Document work via data packages and material specifications
