Here, you'll do more than join something - you'll add something! Apple is seeking a Materials Engineer to join Panel Process and Optics (PPO) Engineering team. Our Materials Engineer is responsible for developing new materials and supporting processes that enable innovative manufacturing technologies to tackle sophisticated design challenges that have a direct impact to future product, quality and delivery of Apple Displays and Touch technology. The individual in this role will serve as a focal point in the material development/selection/process development of sophisticated key process modules from the concept/architecture stage through product engineering validation builds. We work at a fast pace and require everyone to be highly self-motivated. A successful candidate needs to be a flexible thinker and be able to problem-solve outside of their respective technical area.Materials Engineer is responsible for New material development with vendors, leading a project from conception to high volume production, and material search and selection!

Requirements

  • PhD or M.S. Degree in Materials Science / Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering or Polymer Chemistry with 5+ years of experience in related field preferred.
  • Ability for International business travel to support project implementation and collaborate with external vendors for product manufacturing.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior research or project experience in materials informatics, chem-informatics, or computational materials science.
