About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Process daily requests for supplies from company facilities and clients. Performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, stock rotation, order fulfillment issuing a variety of materials, equipment and supplies. Perform scheduled deliveries to hospital labs, off-sites and other locations. Assist with inventory control and site put-away services. Advise Materials Management Supervisor of supply shortages, stock issues and/or delivery problems at all locations. Perform all duties with judgment, and self-motivation. The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this classification. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years previous materials management experience such as supply room, warehouse, logistics, transportation, order processing, inventory control and delivery expediting, or (1) year experience as a Materials Distribution Specialist II
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive motor vehicles (non-commercial truck, van, car).
  • Must have good driving record and be insurable by lab insurance carrier.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Prove immunity to Hepatitis B or be immunized or sign a waiver refusing hepatitis immunization.
  • Provide documentation of a PPD test conducted not more than 90 days prior to date of hire or have a PPD test conducted.
  • Comply with all applicable and current Materials Management, Human Resources, Employee Health and Safety, Compliance, OSHA, CLIA, CAP, etc. policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently perform all functions of a Materials Distribution Specialist I and II using independent judgment, self-motivation, and problem solving abilities to the satisfaction of the supervisor.
  • Deliver laboratory supplies and equipment to required destinations.
  • Handle difficult situations and problems with little or no help and without having established guidelines available.
  • Responsible for training Materials Distribution Specialists I and II.
  • Answer Materials Management phones if needed; take orders for clients and assist hospital labs and off-sites with questions or problems.
  • Assist in cycle count and full physical inventory.
  • Analyze current procedures in place and make recommendations for process improvements to the Materials Management Supervisor.
  • Assist in order entry, picking, packing and delivery of both internal and external orders as needed.
  • Assist in the receiving process as needed by working with the Materials Management Coordinator.
  • Maintain accurate Item Data Base Files by monitoring and advising the Materials Management and Purchasing Supervisors of any noted item or units of measure changes.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation, filing and storage of records.
  • Accurately fulfill client and department orders within specified time frame.
  • Maintain consumable laboratory shelves within the Core lab areas by ordering and stocking required product.
  • Assembling loads for delivery with proper packaging and labeling.
  • Provide stock rotation, expiration dates management and put-away services to selected departments and sites.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation, filing and storage of records.
  • Perform Core lab Mail Services as scheduled. To include collecting, sorting and prepping outbound mail for vendor processing. Sorting and delivering inbound mail as well as make a weekly bank deposit for Accounts Payable.
  • Perform Copy Center services as scheduled. To include locate documents in the Document Control System, operate large volume copy machine, pad or laminate as requested.
  • Perform Medical Records Storage services as scheduled. To include picking up records from sites, securing for transport, creating document storage transmittal sheets and palletizing records for document storage pick-up.
