Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Material Control Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of inbound shipments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in SAP, especially in warehouse management, inventory, and goods receipt modules.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of lifting and moving heavy items (up to 35 lbs) and standing for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Technical degree.
  • Additional certifications in supply chain, logistics, or SAP.
  • High level of accuracy in identifying discrepancies and verifying shipments.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices.
  • Familiarity with other warehouse tools, such as barcode scanners or automated inventory systems.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments, ensuring they align with purchase orders and accompanying documentation.
  • Utilize SAP to process goods receipts, maintain accurate inventory records, and generate reports.
  • Organize and complete all receiving paperwork, including bills of lading, packing slips, and invoices.
  • Identify damaged or incorrect items, report issues to vendors, and coordinate returns or replacements.
  • Partner with procurement, inventory, and shipping teams to optimize receiving processes and address discrepancies.
  • Monitor and update inventory levels in SAP, assist with cycle counts, and participate in inventory audits.
  • Ensure receiving operations adhere to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports in SAP to provide insights into inventory and receiving activities.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, including maximizing SAP functionalities.
  • Process return material authorizations (RMAs) for finished goods.
