The Materials Associate plays a vital role in keeping plant operations running smoothly by ensuring all necessary supplies and meat materials are available when needed. Requirements

  • Education: Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2 plus years in procurement or logistics preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate with all levels of management and good comprehension skills.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.

  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily material requirements to maintain uninterrupted plant operations.
  • Submit, update, and maintain purchase orders while managing buyer messages.
  • Oversee daily delivery of supplies and meat, promptly addressing any issues with received materials.
  • Generate accurate daily delivery schedules to ensure operational flow.
  • File and manage supply or meat claims, ensuring credit receipt and proper documentation.
  • Manage slow-moving and obsolete QA‑hold products to maintain inventory health.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors to resolve issues, coordinate deliveries, and manage expectations.
  • Forecast and manage overages and shortages to prevent production delays.
  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects that support continuous improvement.
  • Process invoices and manage e-buy filings efficiently and accurately.
  • Utilize partner links such as Amcor and IP for inventory and specification management.
  • Maintain product specification books and ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned that support Tyson’s RIGHT Behaviors and maintain SOX compliance.
